Winautomation Review – Automation Software Makes Your Life MUCH Easier
Computers are meant to make our lives easier, but often we find ourselves becoming the slave rather than the master. Performing repetitive duties are what computers excel at, so why do people insist on doing the same things day after day? Probably like us, you thought there wasn’t any other way. WinAutomation – Task Automation Software
Ok so what is WinAutomation?
A program that automates any task you can perform on a PC. It automates repetitive functions by providing a load of tools which you ‘link’ together to do tasks one after another. It processes the commands very quickly but in small steps eg open window, click mouse, insert text etc. till it reaches the end of the program.
A simple example of this could be when you switch on your PC in a morning:
- it automatically loads up your office software
- opens your web browser
- opens your regular morning read websites
- logs you in
- searches for relevant content
- it asks you how you are feeling and then posts that to twitter, facebook and any other site
- it then produces a report on how much money you earned online while you were asleep
- makes you a cup of coffee… (ok, so no it only does PC related tasks …for now)
if this takes you 10 minutes a day, you will already have saved yourself 60 hours a year.
The software uses a simple interface with drag and drop ‘actions’. You just put them in the order you want them to be performed. This is of course the same as a standard computer program but the difference here is that you do not need any programming knowledge to set up and automate very sophisticated tasks. If you have ever thought about learning to program a computer but thought it was too hard, time-consuming or downright geeky, then this is what you need.
How Does It Work?
But you may be thinking ‘this all sounds a bit complicated’. As with all things if you take it slowly you will improve as you go along. If you have spent any time using a computer you will have picked up common terms and you may be surprised at how intuitive it is. You might not be able to program a super chess computer but you will be able to create programs to automate simple tasks in a few minutes.
We gave it to Grace our oldest reviewer who, after spending a little while watching the video tutorials, managed to pull together a program to check a folder for new documents and upload to the web automatically. In about half an hour she was able to automate a job that usually takes her 10 minutes a day.
The secret is to write down each detail of the process in micro steps and then find the actions to do them. To jumpstart the process you can even ‘record a macro’ which will watch you as you perform the task and then record the actions so you can re-run them or take bits for your program.
Advanced Features
Ok so now you have a bit of an idea what it does, your mind is probably starting to run wild with things you can automate. Once you have your first program running it will inspire you to do more. The automation software is powerful and when you get used to it you can utilise things like ‘Loops’ and ‘If conditions’ to process lists of items e.g. if you can get it to visit one website and login you could easily do the same for 100 sites with a couple of extra lines of code.
The professional version of the software also includes a job compiler which converts the program into an executable (.exe) file so you can pass it on to your staff to run without any other software, making your personal effectiveness increase exponentially.
